If your child was 4 years old, on or before September 1, 2017, and you are seeking a public school VPK class for the remainder of this school year or for the summer program, call the Bay District Pre-K Office at 850-767-4201.
Application will open on Feb. 5, 2018 at 7:30AM CST for those with a child who will be 4 years old, on or before September 1, 2018, and seeking a public school VPK class
Parents will complete the online application on behalf of their student.
In April 2018 parents who have applied will receive a letter in the mail from the PreK office. This letter will inform the parent that their child has been accepted at a school or placed on a wait list. The letter for the children that have been accepted will have a date for registration to begin and a list of documents you will need to have.
Each public school has a designated attendance zone. Due to space limitations, children living in the school's attendance zone will be placed first. Out of zone requests will be placed as space becomes available at a later time.
Florida law specifies that each parent is responsible for the transportation of his/her child to and from the VPK program. However, there is limited transportation for current routes, if there is available space at regular school bus stops during the regular school times. No special transportation arrangements are available due to lack of state funding.
School site availability is subject to change.
VPK program start/end times may vary by school.
Before your child can attend the VPK program, you will need to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) from the Early Learning Coalition.
COE Application Can Be Found Here (COE Only)
Once you get this certificate hold on to it until you are notified that your child has been placed.
